ABOUT US

What is 4-H?

4-H is a youth development organization affiliated with public universities around the country. Youth in kindergarten through high school are welcome to join. The 4-H Cloverbuds program is designed for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade. It introduces children to the many things they can do in 4-H. 4-H involves club, county, and state level activities. Learn more about 4-H on the Ramsey County 4-H Program Catalog.

Our Club

The Matoska Mariners urban 4-H club was chartered in the fall of 2017. Visit our UPCOMING 4-H EVENTS page to see our meeting and activity schedules. Some of the Matoska Mariners 4-H club activities so far have involved the following:

  • bicycle safety

  • healthy eating and living

  • making valentines at a local care center

  • engineering challenges

  • demonstrations

  • lego challenges

  • arts and crafts

  • snacks

  • games

At the county level, our group recently participated in the Urban Showcase, where we earned the "Best Member Involvement" award! The Urban Showcase helps youth show everyone how they have learned and grown from their experiences, while working on their confidence, public speaking and sense of community.

What does 4-H stand for?

  1. Head

  2. Heart

  3. Hands

  4. Health

Our pledge:

I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service,
and my health to better living,
for my family, my club, my community, my country, and my world.
